Decorating in Style

February 8, 2020

HFI Reservist, Glenda Alexander (from Atlanta, Georgia) has returned to Nepal with the 2020 team to train the women in floral design. Glenda -- who recently decorated the White House for three consecutive years -- brought six suitcases of flowers, ribbon and miscellaneous items to create floral bouquets. Our local partner operates a training center where various life skills are taught to provide the women with an income. The center offers a bridal boutique for local weddings, while some women are trained to become hair stylists; others learn high level sewing skills to create professional uniforms and accessories.
