Nashville Tornado: Situation Report #1

March 3, 2020

Nashville and large portions of middle Tennessee were ravaged by a tornado outbreak late last night into early this morning. At approximately 1:00 am, a Hope Force International (HFI) Reservist was monitoring the storm when he realized a tornado was headed directly into the neighborhood of a friend and his family. He immediately placed a call to warn them and then two minutes later their home was 90% destroyed.  We are so grateful for our Reservist’s sensitivity and proactivity – he is confident that it was the Lord prompting him and so are we.

Tragically, there has been loss of life and severe property damage; the current number of deaths is 19.  This is our worst outbreak in many years. Currently, we are in the assessment phase of our response activities – but already have Hope Force Reservists responding in certain areas. We’ve alerted our responders to the need for manpower in the days ahead.  We anticipate gaining greater clarity as the day unfolds.

Thank you for considering some level of involvement — giving, praying, serving and/or advocating.

Please stand by for further details.

HFI Reservists:  if you are able to respond to this great need, please contact Connie with details on availability.
