Resources for More Training

April 4, 2013

training groupYou?ve already completed HFI?s Reservist Training, but you know there is still more to learn ? and the Internet lists far too many resources than you know what to do with it. Look no further. HFI Reservist Chaplain, Stu Rayner, who is a Family and Marriage therapist, compiled a short list of resources for more training in Emotional and Spiritual Care. In the coming months, we?ll feature even more, but here are a few to get you started:

Psychological First Aid: This course prepares Reservists on how to both identify and provide stabilizing and normalizing assistance to people in crisis. This free class can either be taken at your local American Red Cross or online here.

Interventions with Disaster Survivors: Richard Bryant, a pioneer in the area of Mental Health Interventions in the wake of disasters offers his free webinar here.

For child specific care:

September 11th Anniversary Speaker Series: Free series by various experts who either worked directly with or researched, the 9/11 aftermath, in the year since. Learn more here.
